Offboarding IT Hardware
When a device is no longer in use and marked for destruction it must be offboarded from Freshservice asset tracking and other platforms.
Freshservice
- This applies to any device on the network.
Browse to Freshservice > Assets > Inventory > Search for the device and select it.
Within the asset select Edit (top right corner)
Set the device's "Asset State" to "Retired".
Set "End of Life" to the date the device was retired.
Intune
- This only applies to devices managed by Intune
- Usually Windows devices
Browse to the Intune admin console > Devices > All Devices > Search for your device and select it.
In the device's Overview window select Delete.
Active Directory
- This only applies to AD joined computers.
Browse to on-prem AD > Search for the computer object > Right click and select disable.
